Insulation questions homeowners ask

How do I know if my home needs more insulation?

Uneven room temperatures, high heating or cooling costs, drafts, cold floors and ice dams can point to insulation or air-sealing problems. An on-site assessment is the best way to identify the cause.

Which insulation is best for Southwest Michigan homes?

The right system depends on the area of the home. Attics often benefit from air sealing and blown-in cellulose, while crawlspaces, rim joists and other assemblies may call for spray foam or a combination approach.

Do you remove old insulation?

Yes. When insulation is damaged, contaminated or blocking needed repairs, Greenshield can remove it before installing the new system.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes. Greenshield provides free insulation estimates for homeowners in Kalamazoo and across Southwest Michigan.
